Spring has finally sprung…yaaayy!

It’s been quiet an exceptional year with unpredictable weather conditions. Matter of fact it even snowed in April this year and left everyone amazed.

Nevertheless, it is finally spring dear reader, and on today’s post I’ll be sharing the 10 best spring destinations in Europe to explore.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Average Temperature : Between 7 – 12°C

Why? It’s definitely one of the most photogenic cities during the spring. You can get lost amongst the streets and canals admiring iconic architecture mixed with blossoms and flowers.

 

Paris, France

Average temperature : Between 7 – 17°C

Why? Paris tempts travelers year-round, but it’s exceptionally lovely in the spring. Pale pink blossoms envelop the manicured parks, leafy trees edge the Champs-Élysées, and sidewalk cafés buzz with a renewed sense of excitement. Coming from an ex Parisienne, I can boldly tell you that Paris in the springtime is an absolute HIT!

 

Athens, Greece

Average Temperature : Between 13 – 22°C

Why? Blue skies and so much sunshine. Athens is at its best with scarlet poppies and daisies growing at the foot of the archaeological monuments. Exploring the archaeological sites can be really fun, as well as walking up Lycabettus Hill and strolling amongst the pine trees admiring the view. Definitely a must for spring!

 

Cinque Terre, Italy

Average temperature : 10 – 22°C

Why? This region in Italy consists of 5 towns along the coast. (Manarola, Riomaggiore, Vernazza, Corniglia, and Monterosso al Mare). What makes these towns special are the small charming colorful houses and the many viewpoints. There are also lots of hiking routes through nature leading you from one town to the next and the views for photos are breathtaking.

 

Costa Del Sol, Spain

Average temperature : 12 -25°C

Why? Its one of the most popular spring destinations in Europe. Malaga’s coastline offers long beaches, beach bars, beach towns, cheap drinks, and sun 320 days a year. Yes 320 out of 365 days a year. Not only is it more relaxing than the hot summer months, but it is also the time of year where you can do everything this part of the country has to offer. Additionally it’s very affordable during spring season.

Venice, Italy

Average temperature : Between 12-17°C

Why? A unique destination with very colorful facades and enchanting islands close by. Being a popular destination in summer, the best time to fully explore Venice is in the spring. You enjoy smaller queues and better prices.

 

Vienna, Austria

Average temperature : Between 9 -17°C

Why? In spring you get to experience the start of patio culture and see beautiful flower beds bursting with tulips. And it’s also possible to enjoy hikes in the Vienna hills. It is such a beautiful city with an unforgettable sensation attached to it.

 

Dubrovnik, Croatia

Average temperature : Between 12 – 21°C

Why? This beautiful city along the Adriatic Coast is one of the most popular summer destinations. So due to the crowd and long queues, people miss out on the beauty Dubrovnik has to offer. Visiting during spring, with fewer people gives enough time to explore the impressive city walls, local beaches and tourist attractions.

 

Copenhagen, Denmark

Average temperature : Between 6 – 13°C

Why? In spring the whole city explodes in pink blossoms on all the cherry trees and it’s such a delight! It’s a hip, beautiful city filled with amazing food, nightlife and plenty of cheap and free things to keep you busy. Copenhagen is a place you would want to revisit as every season has a unique experience to it.

 

Budapest, Hungary

Average temperature 6 – 18°C

Why? If in spring you need a holiday filled with enchanting architecture, history, and relaxation then the Pearl of Danube is the place. It possesses 118 thermal springs and a veritable list of things to do. Choose from traditional Turkish baths, Neo-Baroque pools, Art Nouveau spas, and modern facilities for a spring break. It’s also a budget friendly city.
